Esther Giucci

Esther Giucci was a Uruguayan pianist and teacher.

She was born in Montevideo on December 7, 1906. She was the seventh child of the marriage between Camilo Giucci and Luisa Gallo. As a child, she studied music theory with Manuel García de la Llera and harmony with Tomás Mugica. Later, she studied music history and choral conducting with Kurt Pahlen.

She performed as a solo pianist and accompanist. She was a member of the Anfión chamber orchestra, which was conducted by Beatriz Tusset Collazo. She taught at the Franz Liszt Conservatory of Music. In 1973, after her sister Luisa passed away, she took over the position of director at the Conservatory of Music, which she held until 1995, when she transferred the rights of the Conservatory to pianist and teacher Julio César Huertas.

Esther passed away on February 26, 1999.
